Edinburgh Therapy Practice (ETP) opened in 2015, and are a team of experienced, accredited and registered counsellors and psychotherapists with a diverse range of training backgrounds, practising therapy in Edinburgh (originally from Rutland Square) and online. With over 20 years of clinical experience, and working together for a number of years, we offer a range of therapeutic approaches. These include:
Individual counselling and psychotherapy;
Trauma focused therapy
Mindfulness-based therapy;
Therapy online.
We also specialise in working with a range of presenting difficulties, having trained comprehensively in areas matched with our individual interests and capacities. Descriptions of these areas can be found under Therapists.
Counselling and psychotherapy can be brief (6-12 sessions) or longer term, depending on what feels therapeutically appropriate, and fees are negotiated with the therapist either before or during the first appointment as best suits you.
At Edinburgh Therapy Practice we abide to either the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) new Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy’s (UKCP) Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct, the United Kingdom Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners (UKAHPP) Code of Practice and Code of Ethics and Conduct, the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and/or the British Psychological Society.
BACP, UKCP and BAAT are accredited by and registered with the Professional Standards Authority formerly known as the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE). UKAHPP is an Organisational Member of UKCP.
